Located on a corner site, this historic building in the midst of San Francisco’s financial district was built in 1906 of unreinforced masonry brick. Two floors were added to the building in 1948 to create a four story commercial building with a fully utilized basement. In 1994 the building underwent a major seismic retrofit and renovation. The exterior facades have been left intact to preserve the architectural characteristics of the original building. The award-winning Rubicon restaurant occupies the basement and first three floors of the building. Office tenants occupy the fourth.
